Bob Webzell has been UK Co-ordinator of Aang Serian since 2001, and served as Secretary of Serian UK since its establishment in 2005. Bob lives in Brighton, UK, with his wife, Sandra.
Bob is a retired lecturer, formerly Senior Lecturer in Health Studies at Thames Valley University in London. He has a Masters degree in Management and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is also an External
Examiner for three other English universities, covering the subjects of Mental Health and Health Care Management.
Bob is a skilled photographer, an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society and a Past President of Brighton and Hove Camera Club. Bob achieves most of his fundraising for Serian UK via photographic exhibitions and illustrated lecturing, using images taken in Eluwai and the Monduli Mountains.
When he has the opportunity to visit Noonkodin School, he provides students with disposable cameras and the necessary teaching to record their own lives and culture. Students’ images, such as this one taken by former pupil Paulo Emmanuel (whom Bob sponsored), are often reproduced in his exhibitions and lectures to inform UK audiences, and all proceeds go direct to the charity.
