As a Trustee of Serian UK, Janine FitzGerald has been the link between the students at Noonkodin School and their sponsors, and she has also been the Chair of Serian UK since 2005.
Janine’s broad experience has been gained from several years in local politics, duties as a Magistrate, teaching in a Young Offenders Institution and a variety of voluntary ‘stuff’ both in the UK and overseas.
A BSc in Anthropology with Education, followed by a Master’s degree in Humanitarian Development Practice has fuelled Janine’s interest in the cultural effects of education.
She is presently seeking opportunities for further academic research in a related area.
Patrick Voss, Janine’s son, has been an enthusiastic fundraiser for the Charity and her eldest daughter, Frances Voss has spent some time volunteering at the school.
So it has become a sort of family affair!
