In addition to our tailor-made programmes for schools and colleges, we organise a wide range of cultural events for the general public and for private groups such as Rotary Clubs, churches, community groups, etc. These include exhibitions, lectures, illustrated talks, craft fairs, jewellery parties, Maasai bead jewellery workshops, and African song and dance workshops. Most of them are linked to fundraising efforts for our Tanzanian projects.
We currently offer cultural events in Hampshire and Sussex, but will consider visits elsewhere in southern England and Wales if the host groups can (a) cover standard travel expenses, and (b) pledge to raise at least £250 for the projects. Please contact us for more information.
“Africa calls to me”
Exhibition of photographs by Bob Webzell ARPS, with poetry by Wayne Visser
‘Africa calls to me’ represents a new and unique collaboration between Bob Webzell, photographer and Trustee of Serian UK, and Wayne Visser, poet and author.
The exhibition is themed upon Wayne Visser’s poem of the same name, and his verses are used to introduce panels of Tanzanian images by award-winning international photographer Bob Webzell ARPS and two Noonkodin students. Wayne has said he is honoured for his words to be used in this way and he will be visiting, and has offered to help promote, the exhibitions to raise funds for continued development of Noonkodin School. Further collaborations are to be discussed.
